What really irks me about folks like Mr. Yakoby and Prof. @ShaiDavidai is that they do not seem to have realized that the last 23 years of the War on Terror was, in many ways, just an expanded War on Palestinian Activism. There are Americans right now serving 80-year sentences in federal prison for sending food and blankets to the same charity services in Gaza that the US government sent humanitarian aid to (see Holy Land Foundation case). The FBI, Treasury dept, etc. have been probing every orifice of the collective Muslim/Arab/Pro-Palestinian body with such vigor for the past two decades it's a miracle any of us can still walk straight. Basically, if there's a Palestinian activist or organization that exists today in the US, an immuno-compromised vegan could eat their dinner of their books. And they know their rights... what little remains. So when folks come and say "OMG, Students for Justice in Palestine is linked to Khamas! Calling FBI! Calling FBI!," not only are they engaging in the veeeery ethically dubious act of siccing law enforcement on fellow members of the university community based on nothing more than acts of speech and assembly, they're also missing the biggest been-there-done-that I know of. And it's obnoxious and boring.
