This is the first YC batch that stopped believing in software.
The most-copied observation is "services-as-software / be the X business."
The non-obvious version is this is YC conceding that pure software has no moat anymore.
What we see instead is founders buying their way into P&Ls (becoming the accounting firm, the insurer, the law firm) specifically to own something that can't be cloned.
