My midterm group just virtually met for two hours to work on our project. It was weird not to be in the same room as my lovely 350 peers, but it did not stop us from accomplishing what needed to be done! #ENG350
Our staff has started working remotely to do our part to slow the spread of #covid19. We recognize another thing we can do is continue offering content that nourishes and accompanies, so we collected podcasts and poetry that speak to this moment.

I almost never had culturally relevant lessons in K-12 in ANY subject. It's amazing to me how many opportunities there are for educators to add even more significance and learning that is valuable both in and outside the classroom into our lesson plans. #ENG350
I think with all this going on the important thing is to just take a breath. Online classes won't be bad, we've had to learn how to reorganize before so we can do it again, and if nothing else, we can meet up outside of class

I feel like this is also a great lesson for pre-service teachers! Misinformation runs rampant in all communities in times of crisis, so making information available and allowing students to process it (through writing, group activities, etc.) is vital. #ENG350
Just a reminder to humanities educators: in light of #COVID19, it’s totally okay to adjust our syllabi & educate about the moment. No better time to talk about Spanish Flu, cholera, or AIDS, & to use our vital skills like critical thinking & empathy to make sense. Be presentist.
I loved getting in the classroom with 7th grade Pendelton students to cover argumentation and debate. Teaching lessons and guiding activities is even more fun with my #ENG350 friends!

this is a cool podcast that talks (more for professional writers) about the excuses we give ourselves for not writing, but i think some of it could by transferable to students
