New Mexico's early #ElectricVehicle charging station build plans shown will be greatly augmented by Federal $$ coming from the IRA. EV's are the future. The charging stations will be ready as the sales grow. #HB412 @RioGrandeSierra @ProgressNowNM

Low- and moderate-income New Mexicans are now eligible for rebates up to $2,300 for electrical upgrades and home EV fast chargers, thanks to 2019 NM law. #nmleg #HB412

New Mexico @govmlg last year was the first state to issue its infrastructure plan for EV chargers for $38 million in federal funds. Also, NM had the foresight in 2019 to pass an EV infrastructure law w/ rebates for public chargers. Chargers are popping up everywhere. #nmleg

Rural New Mexicans spend more on gas and will save more with EVs. The incentives in #HB412, along with federal credits, would bring EVs roughly into cost parity with polluting gas cars. #nmleg

Based on New Mexicans' average gas expenditures, EVs would save the average New Mexico driver about $3,000 a year. 🚗🚗🚗 #HB412 #nmleg

Congratulations #HENRC for passing #HB412 the #ElectricVehicle tax credit bill. This will accelerate EV adoption by making them more affordable, especially to lower income families. A win-win for the climate and the people. Well done @RioGrandeSierra as expert witness!

2023 Chevy Bolt EV, the lowest priced #ElectricVehicle at under $28,000 will qualify for $7,500 federal tax credit. It would be even lower with #HB412 #nmleg https://t.co/dRiM9nyzOT

Hear, hear, Rep. Rubio! Transitioning from gas to electric vehicles is critical, but many people can't afford cars at all, & we won't solve the climate crisis without building out public transport, which is affordable and much cleaner. #nmleg #HB412

Yes! Spitting some absolute truth @RadRogueRubes says that while she supports #HB412, she would really love to see more efforts made to de-escalate from our “car centered society” and efforts made for more mass transit! YES YES YES! #nmpol #nmleg

Between the #InflationReductionAct & existing NM state programs, New Mexico is building tons of public use #ElectricVehicle charging stations. The tax credits in #HB412 would also apply to installing a charger in your home! #nmpol #nmleg

Our @RioGrandeSierra director makes fierce rebuttal to Townsend's disingenuous contention that making EVs affordable for New Mexicans doesn't move climate needle: "If we don't do everything we can to protect our children, we will look back on this day with shame." #NMLeg #HB412

Now #oilandgas🛢️ executive Rep. Townsend is picking up that same torch by trying to say that the tax credits wouldn’t help “enough” people to “make a difference” Alright then @rep54townsend, instead of $10 million for #hb412 will you amend it to $100 million? #nmleg #nmpol

Rep. Scott thinks NM is insignificant, we guess. But policies like EV tax credits DO impact the climate crisis. Increasing the market and uptake of EVs moves the entire market, and making vast reductions in health-damaging pollution is worth it to us. #nmleg #HB412

We must transition to zero-emission transport to meet the targets scientists say are necessary to avoid disaster for our children. That will also improve our health and save us $$$, according to @AmericanLungNM #nmleg #HB412 https://t.co/vECRE9rMfn
