I wrote about my internship at @NewberryLibrary for the @mcgillsis student blog: https://t.co/NVSCNZT2ig #NLDigIntern @CrowdsourceJM @ephemerapost
Beautiful handwriting on this postcard #NLDigIntern
I can see Hadro's point about missing impact by just sending out a digitized image and captions on social media. So many cool pieces of history are in my feeds, but in a saturated environment like that, I rarely try to dig deeper to find the rest of the collection. #NLDigIntern
#NLDigIntern My "map" of a road trip I took last year through the desert of the southwest: https://t.co/mbKWuNaKDj
Another trip with 3 hotels of same name along 3 great lakes, to Colorado and Florida. Strange clicking on right but the trip is "moving" to left / west. https://t.co/4krgzBseIz #nldigintern

In “Manufacturing Impact: Why We Digitize,” I really like Hadro’s ideas on purposeful access - aiming for digitized images to broaden perspectives and influence viewers’ engagement with the world and others. #NLDigIntern
PPA project says it is out of data #nldigintern
Having fun with StoryMapJS, reimagining a road trip I took with my family in 2005 through postcards. #NLDigIntern https://t.co/bCeVZtx7FX

Since I work for a Presbyterian Church, I made a StoryMap of them. https://t.co/8QpAhhGyx7 #NLDigIntern
@gombach_b @aeonmag In one of my MLIS classes, we saw example after example of "dead" digital libraries that failed to plan for the future (read "funding"). #NLDigIntern
This begs the question of which is better: digital access that may alienate some users or only physical access that is a barrier to almost all users? (Hadro) #NLDigIntern
@CrowdsourceJM I cant help by think that digital collections in some ways further exacerbate the “digital divide” among the library user population. Access and impact will increase for the tech saavy but what about the others who are less tech-inclined? #NLDigIntern
Biggest problem will be maintaining digital archives in future, i.e., cost and volume. #nldigintern
I agree with Hadro that it is harder to measure use and impact, than parsing straight data and numbers, but very important to look at cultural impact and importance. #nldigintern

Hadro: I'm not sure if every digital librarian has the creative skills to think of example ways to use the digital images we provide. Talk about our collections with the imaginative people we know and see what they develop; share these examples to inspire others. #NLDigIntern
