One hour drive from Hubballi Airport will take you to Architectural marvel of Kadambas. Sri Kamala Narayana temple Degaon is one of the very few temples, Where statue of creator of the temple was installed and was worshipped.

Another thing I liked about this airport is that it’s not meant to serve a single city but an entire region
We could’ve done the same Kittur, a greenfield airport with logistics hub & fast road/rail links connecting H-D, Belagavi & Gadag benefitting entire north KA
Good news for Air travellers to/from Hubballi.. Additional flight for Hyderabad from IndiGo. Fly91 also going to commence it's operation from March 29th. So, tighten your seat belt and be ready.

It would be great news if @fly91 adds around 28 weekly departures from HYD by launching services to Indore, Hubli, Vijayawada, and Rajahmundry. This could increase its total operations to nearly 35 weekly departures.
Hyderabad also needs additional turboprop frequencies to key regional routes such as Tirupati, Raipur, Nagpur, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Nashik, Shirdi, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Mysuru, Belagavi, and Mangalore to further strengthen its regional connectivity.
The two arms of the flyover extending from IT Park toward the HDBRTS Corridor/Vidyanagar stretch serve distinct traffic flows:
[1] One arm handles incoming traffic from Vidyanagar.
[2] The other arm manages outgoing traffic from the
Traffic Island/Keshwapur/Gadag Road.
For the arm in point [1] (incoming from Vidyanagar):
● As shown in the first image, pillars have been erected in the mixed-use lane below, further "narrowing" the roadway.
● This will exacerbate congestion at this junction and the MVP, especially with Vidyanagar traffic merging into the mixed lane toward Cotton Market and the city center.
A better design could have been:
● Remove the BRTS stretch from Hosur Cross to MVP, and start BRTS at MVP (after Hosur Bus Terminal).
● This would allow both flyover arms to align centrally, avoiding encroachment on mixed lanes, reducing congestion, and improving overall traffic flow.

The launch of Fly91’s Hyderabad–Hubballi–Bengaluru service marks a major step forward in restoring and strengthening our region’s air connectivity. With more airlines showing interest, Hubballi Airport is once again moving toward its true potential as an aviation hub for the entire region.
A big thanks to the Fly91 team for recognising the growing demand from Hubballi–Dharwad, and to the airport authorities for actively engaging with new operators.
This development will benefit students, business travellers, medical passengers, and thousands of citizens who depend on quick connectivity.
Hope Fly91 soon adds more destinations like Goa and Agatti, which will be a huge boost for travellers from this region.

Hubli Airport (HBX) smashed its 1200 daily passenger handling capacity in January 2026, exceeding it on 15 out of 31 days & topping 1300 on 5 peak days!
⦿ This surge highlights massive demand from HBX as a growing hub.
🚀 Exceptional Footfall Stats:
--------------------------------
Total days analyzed: 31 Days
>1200 passengers = 15 (over 50%!) Days
>1300 passengers = 5 (peak performers: 1309, 1322, 1329×2, 1302)
HBX is soaring as North Karnataka's leading aviation hub—smashing capacity records in Jan 2026, fueling regional growth & paving the way for more upgradation.
Airlines should start new in demand routes to
->Ahmedabad
->Jaipur/ Jodhpur
->Mangaluru
->Goa
->Kochi
Cargo and Business Boost:
----------------------------
HBX's dedicated domestic cargo terminal enables quick goods transport, aiding local industries & e-commerce.
⦿ For the financial year 2024–25 (April 2024 to March 2025), the airport handled 284 metric tonnes of cargo. This represented a substantial growth of 78.2% compared to the previous year, highlighting its growing role as a logistics hub for North Karnataka.
HBX: Time to Go International! ✈️
Hubli Airport (HBX) is already North Karnataka's aviation powerhouse—centrally located, super accessible from Dharwad, Belgaum & beyond, and smashing records with Jan 2026's 15+ days over 1200 pax & booming cargo!
Why International Status NOW?
Hub Role: Serves 10+ districts as the go-to gateway.
Connectivity: Highways/rail make it a breeze for millions in North Karnataka.
Proven Demand: Peak loads hit 1300+ pax daily even with lesser aircraft movements —cargo's thriving too, fueling industries!
⦿ Government should upgrade HBX to international status to unlock tourism, FDI, jobs & global trade. @MBPatil@JoshiPralhad@RamMNK@MoCA_GoI@BelladArvind@MTenginkai@JagadishShettar@AAI_Official@aairedsr@aaihbxairport@Hubballi_Infra@HubliCityeGroup@arunkbh@ShineofaSmile1

@east_bengaluru@siddaramaiah@DKShivakumar A city is bound to get congested with traffic and infested with people if there are no alternative cities with jobs.
Only viable long term solution is to develop North Karnataka cities, especially Hubli-Dharwad-Belagavi as a cluster with an international airport. @ChristinMP_
Hubballi Airport will be privatised in FY 2025-26
“To privatise, Bhubaneswar and Amritsar airports will be clubbed with Hubballi and Kangra, while Raipur and Tiruchirapalli will be clubbed with Aurangabad and Tirupati, respectively, according to a report in Hindustan Times
