@nonlinear_james@TayTayTayT67373 You didn’t answer my question, so I’ll presume you made the 130 up. You definitely need to know how to connect with people, able to take risks, and think critically but that isn’t necessarily a guarantee for a high IQ as per measured in tests.
@DschlopesIsBack Homecrowd/host advantage is real, but also, the U.S. team isn’t bad. They are expected to get out of groups as 1st and make top 16. Getting further than that will be difficult but we have seen far more miraculous things before!
@nonlinear_james@TayTayTayT67373 Wait but how do we know they are 130+? I don’t necessarily doubt it but I’d like to know where you found the information!
@ooh_mow Happy you guys appreciate your country, some national pride I believe can be healthy, since it builds a sense of community! However, it is worth noting that this is also just common tourist behavior, just like how Americans abroad experience other countries for the first time!
@vrexec That is precisely why it’s a bubble, these companies get far too much VC so they offer stupid high wages, basically wasting it on an image of superiority and hype while they can. They know their bottom line will never evolve into what the investors have been promised.
@EleonoraFall Swede here, our cell providers make sure we get a set amount of data throughout the EU (and most of the rest of the world) with no additional charge. Calling/Texting is always free anyway. Never used WhatsApp until I flew to Vienna just one week ago!
@feranick@Logicull Note that the two most innovative countries in the world, Switzerland and Sweden, are both European. The U.S. is third. And yes, the U.S. is the most powerful nation in the world, so please start acting like it and vote in politicians who aren’t populist scum.
@esterezw It’s not more advanced than Europe, but it may be more open to new tech. Tech to pay with your hand has existed in Europe for years, just never got popular because people don’t like it. Europe mostly has drinkable tap water, yes yes immigration.
@Dumptyap@IWDominate Oh yes definitely, staying in LA is stupid when there is likely just as big an audience on the east coast, and where you can also find cheaper land.
@Dumptyap@IWDominate With that I agree, but also you shouldn’t expect the LCS to be stronger just because it has more investment. Europe just has a bigger LoL scene than NA, meaning more talented individuals will inevitably grow from it! And then Korea and China take that even further!
@Dumptyap@IWDominate There’s nothing wrong with the LCS being weaker than LEC, what is a problem is it being weaker than LCP and CBLOL (which mind you, I still don’t think you guys are, but it’s closing).
@eurofounder I looked at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, including statistics of 121 million Americans workers in Q1 of 2026, and the median weekly income is $1233 -> $64116/year. For comparison, in my home country (in Europe) it’s $49000/year. Adjusted for PPP it’s ~$60000/year.
@GIshayu@PartTimePhilo I mean where do you live if you think any of the three Scandinavian countries are ”not bad, but”?
As someone living there, I would argue maybe Switzerland has the better package, being richer and more southern, but other than that…
