@teortaxesTex Interesting. For me it keeps inventing/hardcoding results and curves instead of actually running algorithms (tried it on unit square packing). Extremely high sycophancy in first 90 minutes of testing.
@sandersted@ESYudkowsky I would love to see an adversarial collaboration with you, representing all skeptics and @slatestarcodex representing all concerned. 85% of the signal right there.
@Meaningness Why not make a very low effort version and update it if there is significant interest and feedback that an update is necessary? Or put the epub online in different formats and track downloads.
@Meaningness Congrats David! It is an impressive book that adds and subtracts many important viewpoints to/from the AI risk discussion. Worth the wait. 😉
@zamzar@metaviv@Meaningness Welcome to the chat, AI. Zamzar, please consider two things: 1. More human-like voices. 2. Understanding formatting, such as chapters or lists, so that those get a break and emphasis. But all in all, 7/10 already. :)
@metaviv@Meaningness Listening to it atm. (Free) Workflow is like this: install Chrome extension EpubPress, open all 44 tabs in one window, press print, have it convert to mp3 on Zamzar (takes a bit). If you have a coffee before, you can do it in 8 min.
@metaviv@Meaningness The last time I did not find an audio book (for a rare book), I converted its epub to mp3 online. Worked like a charm. Effort 2min.
@cronokirby Done, but don't feel comfortable sharing it without David's permission. But you can do it in 4 minutes with the Chrome extension epubpress. Just open all tabs in one window and press print. Looks good enough.
@connerdelights@Meaningness Ok, it is actually easy to do: You install the chrome extension "epubpress". You open all links as tabs in one browser window. Then press print. Or send me an email to [email protected]
@Meaningness Thank you. I even checked Amazon. ;) Then I will read the website. I think Meaningness and Better without AI would profit from a separate book format though.
