@JoshMoulton It’s a tax thing where they have to let it sit dormant for a number of years (by listing ann insane rent price) and then can rezone it now into apartments. They do this all the time.
@johnmoz@chicagobars Yeah that’s how money works. Indiana wants something and they’re paying for it. 95% of people won’t notice the difference but they’ll all get satisfaction of having the bears.
@aaron_renn you do realize that this debt-laden monetary policy is by design, right? the central banks across the globe have no intention of paying down the debt. it's simply unnecessary and an accounting exercise. almost every single developed country does this - the US is no different
@AmericanExpress They were fantastic at the race. Trackside experience and all the extras they handed out. Cap it off with the Amex Lounge on the way out and was amazing how much value Amex delivered for my trip.
@79thAndHalas It’s not funded by the taxpayers. Plus, the revenue from the land in question is all upside for Indiana. That plot would do nothing anyway without the bears. There’s no loss, it’s a win-win.
@tkyles39 Misleading as there were two regular season throwaway weeks and then the playoffs only have 14 total teams playing (8 this past week). So top 6 could really mean anything
