@ashley_clemenae This video also made me think about how I’ll ensure all of my students feel comfortable in my classroom by not limiting them, even if they have a disability. It’s important that we don’t restrict students with disabilities from having a normal school experience. #educ200#03sp22
Yesterday, we watched a video of how this teacher ensures that all students are included in his classroom, regardless of ability. He emphasized the principle of “least restrictive environment” by accommodating to each student, even those with disabilities. #educ200#03Sp22
@oliviajfitz Hi Olivia! I think this lesson was very important because it helps us understand that we need to make sure students are being ask deeper level thinking questions in order to enhance their learning experience. #educ200#03sp22
@oliviajfitz I thought this lesson was extremely important because we often overlook bias that can be found in many of our textbooks and it is important that we are able to recognize it. We should make sure we are getting information from people of all kinds of backgrounds. #educ200#03sp22
Students completed a Minute to Win It challenge during Morning Meeting this morning! Each table group tried to stack a set of cups together before the timer went off ⏱⏱⏱ @Discovery_elem#firstgrade#morningmeeting#minutetowinit
@MissStumm@Discovery_elem Hi! I’m currently a student at JMU majoring in elementary education! I love this activity because it allows students to work together to solve a problem while also having fun! I think this is a great teamwork exercise #educ200#03sp22
#educ200#03Sp22 “All that is taught is a commitment to what is thought valuable.”
Today in class we discussed how teachers are limited by what is deemed “valuable” in the curriculum and how it affects what they teach their class.
@Baileyjmu2025 I think this is a very important topic because it is very easy to overlook the fact that this is happening in many communities across the country and it is affecting the quality of education for certain groups of students in lower income districts. #educ200#03Sp22
@katewilsonn30 I also thought this lesson was very important because as teachers we will be feeding off of ideas from others to make our classrooms better and we need to know how to be able to give proper credit where it is due.
@katie__camp One thing about this lesson that surprised me was how all of the philosophies can intertwine with each other and a certain learning space can have multiple philosophies contributing to the students’ learning. I will be more mindful when I am thinking about my school experience.
@KaleighDoris My group also read this article and we recognized that we don’t face the same adversities that many people do while trying to do simple tasks like enjoying nature, watching birds, etc. We talked about how we were privileged to have never faced this because of our skin color.
@oliviajfitz I liked the examples you used from some of our classmates! I was very glad to learn the story of everyone’s name because I feel like I have a better understanding of my classmates! #EDUC200#03Sp22
@AbbieHogan25 I think this clearly demonstrates how dependability is a factor of the Patriots’ success. I also think that from structure and clarity they are expected to work hard and stay focused for themselves and for their team in order to keep their success going. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@espar2am I definitely think this article shows psychological safety because students feel safe to explore new topics. I also think this article shows impact because the teachers are leaving an impact on the students by giving them a safe outlet for learning. #EDUC200#03Sp22
A quote that stuck out to me was "The National Park Foundation will invest in sustainability initiatives that empower park staff, park partners, and park visitors with more sustainable options." This shows that the work they do motivates themselves to be better. #EDUC200#03Sp22
https://t.co/6n41P2pMaW The National Park Foundation exemplifies the Google Norm of Impact because as a team, they work to preserve wildlife and conserve resources to help the environment. (1/2)
This quote from today's class stuck out because we discussed the ways teachers can help students reach certain levels of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. As teachers, we will have to learn how to help meet each student's needs so they can be successful. #EDUC200#03Sp22
