I've talked to dozens of CMOs over the past month and the trend is clear: pessimism about whether their current agency "gets" GEO.
Highlighted below, the growth in searches are unlikely to be new demand -- it's hesitation about whether or not someone's current vendor "gets" it.
Q. How much traffic growth can you expect from SEO?
A. Great question! If you regularly create good content, earn authorative links, and provide a great user experience, you can expect -20% to -50% traffic growth in 2025 alone
@RossHudgens Currently experiencing this, even for english to english speaking targets (US vs CA) are wildly different in monthly volume, competition, CTR% and yes AOV. Solid take @RossHudgens
Hey #seo peeps out there. Any experience with google flagging merchant center products as "alcoholic beverages" instead of furniture? Asking for a friend.
Until it (possibly) gets taken down by Google's lawyers, here's a direct link to the leaked Google ranking API docs

Good SEO shares many similarities with good investing.
Invest in performance over decades, not weeks.
Play the long game to endure through traffic swings.
Look at underlying value, not what it trades at today.
Diversify and don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.
@lilyraynyc literally did this yesterday to aggregate a number of large multi-competitor ranking footprint exports with same columns. So utterly amazing.
@CyrusShepard Have always felt it a new "established" or "credible" domain valuation that replaced OG domain authority. In general feels like some Sartwell's "beauty" conversation in philosophy but in digital form. Something known and agreed upon but not provable.
Just an honest reflection, I'm often grateful to be working on a smaller team than my past roles in SEO and marketing in general. It's beyond rewarding to still be in the weeds in so many ways.
Sites dropping out of Google Search over weekend and coming back on weekdays - it coincides with the unconfirmed Google algorithm updates but is it a Google bug or is it a site quality issue (edging of indexing) https://t.co/Onzeytsy7x hat tip @Giridja@TomekRudzki
@CyrusShepard@searchliaison For the record zero new pages were launched. It’s simple generic search results serving notably more product and collection pages in the e-commerce space. Granted it was a sale month we made some small tweaks for but not enough for this shift.
