Storytime! Please RT/share!
I am hyped to share that my PhD work is now preprinted (also my 1st-1st author paper). It was quite a journey!

1/? I've had a few people ask me why I prefer @Thorlabs posts over their cages. The argument for cages is self-defeating: supposedly they provide pre-aligned centration, but mechanical tolerances =/= optical tolerances. You end up having to put everything on kinematic mounts...
Using GLMMs and LMMs? If you haven't read this paper, you should! A great summary of major issues we face with model selection (though our choices are still deeply imperfect/we have a long way to go)!
Bottom line: hard thinking is always preferred.

Plant cells generate rhythms/oscillations in virtually all scales of spatiotemporal organization.
A whopping 24 orders of magnitude in time 15 in space!

Hello PhD Students in Norway 🇳🇴:
This August we will teach a course on neural data analysis at @KISNeuro.
The course will be taught on Zoom and students who pass the final exam will get 7.5 ECTS. If you want to join us, please contact me.
Please RT.

Why do we sleep?
Despite intense research, why we sleep remains one of the most baffling questions in #neuroscience. A new #ScienceReview discusses why we might sleep, what mechanisms force us to sleep when we are sleep deprived, and more. https://t.co/d5shtE3j7x #WhyWeSleep
