Aboveground woody carbon stocks increased faster in protected areas in southern Africa’s woodlands than in unprotected areas as a result of lower deforestation rates and faster vegetation growth

Launching our @DelairTech UAV over Lopé National Park in #Gabon as part of the ForestScan project. Foggy conditions for most of the week, with swirling winds adding a bit of 'excitement' to take off and landing, but this flight alone netted us 160 ha of #LiDAR data.
@emilyrlines Same here - so much time spent waiting on the wind to play nice. Expectation never matches reality when it comes to drone work. Those TLS peeps have it easy! I'm sure its worth the wait for the data :)
@TLS_TREES@kungphil @ChavanaBryant so did you see it flying see it over the plot? It went, it came back = first UAV-LS mission done. Aged about 5 years in that 1 hour though
@mhagdorn @cocteautriplets Quite. Turns out those complaining on the local Facebook page about how efforts to create LTNs, and more space for pedestrians to walk down the main street were "undemocratic", were in fact, quite demoncratic after all.
@douglasfinch @malcolmfg1 @UpLateAtNightAg It was doing the rounds last night😂 wasn't sure if I was laughing or cry watching it. Mix of both I suppose...
