CHAMPIONS: @UCUniversity has emerged winner of the Inaugural National Inter-University Access to Justice, Non-Discrimination and Equal Opportunities Moot Court Competition 2026, defeating @iuiuac.

The team walked away with three awards: Best Overall Team, Best Memorial Award, and Best Orator Award, the latter presented to Wambaka Rebecca. @UCUniversity was represented by Nali Shakira and Wambaka Rebecca.

UPDATE: Supreme Court Justices Prof Lillian Ekirikubinza, Christopher Madrama and Mike Chibita are presiding over an inter-university moot court final organised by the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO). 16 universities participated using coded names, with Uganda Christian University (UCU) and the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) advancing to the final. The EOC says the moot court not only gives students practical courtroom experience but also serves as a sensitisation platform on discrimination and marginalisation, highlighting available remedies for victims.
