SheepShaver on BeOS really helped it be an effective daily driver - nearly no need to reboot to MacOS. Of course Rhapsody eventually got blue box to fill the same role. Happily though, SheepShaver is still useful today!

@waddlesplash @richjharris @NanoRaptor @haikuOS I think we may have told the engineer at the booth about it, I was never able to make it happen again. I just tried it with BeOS PR2 (DR9) on my PowerMac.
Alas, disabling all the processors is a joyful power that was taken from us.

@richjharris @NanoRaptor @gassee I think that was probably MacWorld '97 - when I got hold of these. In the 90's we talked about dabbling with alternative operating systems like college students talked about dabbling with drugs.

@richjharris @NanoRaptor Another time, I told one of the employees at the Be booth I wanted to work for them. He said "There's the CEO, ask him!" So I asked @gassee "Do you have any jobs?" and he said "Apple already got him." and the conversation ended.
That was my first failed job interview at age 14.

You also learned the ins and outs of that fancy record player at the Sigma Society. You may pretend technology baffles you, but you really can be quite a whiz when you want to.

Cracked Mac plus keyboard fixed up with a combo of sanding traces to the copper to solder across the crack and adding jumper wires where the crack intersected multiple times or the traces were too small. A super fun fix!
