On 13 September, an MSF bus carrying 10 humanitarian staff in Gaza City was damaged by an Israeli airstrike on a targeted vehicle just two metres away. One of our colleagues was injured in the strike.

The bus was clearly identified as an MSF vehicle, with a large MSF sticker visible on its roof. Once again, Israeli forces have shown a blatant disregard for the safety of humanitarian and medical personnel.

Nowhere is safe in Gaza. Civilians, healthcare workers and humanitarian staff must be protected. Clearly marked medical and humanitarian vehicles must be spared from attacks.

More Palestinians have been killed (1,300) since the so-called ceasefire began in Gaza on 10th October 2025 than Israelis were killed on 7th October 2023 - including ten times as many children (300!) as were killed on 10/7.

India’s Supreme Court has paused a criminal case against gym owner Deepak Kumar, who became known as “Mohammad Deepak” after he stepped in when Hindu nationalists confronted a Muslim shopkeeper over the name of his store.

On January 26, members of Bajrang Dal objected to the word “Baba” (a term with Hindu religious associations) in the shop’s name.

Kumar intervened in defence of his Muslim neighbour but Hindutva activists later accused him of assault and intimidation.

He denies this and says he was only defending the shopkeeper.

On August 31 the court stayed the police case and lifted a ban that had stopped him posting about the incident.

The order is temporary and a fuller hearing is expected in about four weeks.
