But do they know what it takes to soften a woman who has survived so much darkness, even war-like battles in life? It takes a truly strong-hearted and secure man to bring that feminine warmth back in a woman who had no choice but to become strong.”
“She had been through a lot. She did everything on her own and never depended on anyone. For six long years she struggled through college alone. There was no one physically there to help her. She never asked any male friends for help
and never relied on any man to get through difficult situations. She carried all her burdens by herself. Being a medical student, life slowly turned her into a rock, and people started calling her ‘masculine.’
The new @NMC_IND rule affecting thousands of #FMGE students raises serious concerns
Article 14 – Equality before law
• Legitimate Expectation Doctrine
• Force Majeure (#COVID situation)
Students studied online during a global pandemic, not by choice.
#JusticeForFMGs
When COVID struck, the entire world including medical colleges in India and abroad shifted to online learning. FMGs followed the rules that existed at the time. After 6 years, why are only they being singled out to “compensate”? This feels inconsistent and discriminatory.
We also need stability. Rules changing in short term create unbearable stress on students who are already giving their all to become doctors. FMGs only seek fairness and a consistent policy that treats every future doctor equally. #FairRulesForFMGs
We are on the verge of nuclear war because the politicians who steal half of your pay check every month don't listen to your point of view (which is their actual job).
Hands off Gaza! The greedy genocidal capitalists and colonialists are planning a total takeover of Gaza. With the plan being shared at Davos to the whole world.
Gaza is sovereign Palestinian land and the only people to decide how Gaza is rebuilt should be the Palestinians.
I urge everyone to actually watch and witness one Rabies case in real life.
One.
And then come and say street and stray dogs are not a problem.
Till then - please STFU.
I urge Hospital Owners:
If you can't afford an MD, hire an MBBS.
If you are too broke for that, hire a Senior Technician to Ventilate BUT have the guts to put up a transparent disclaimer: 'Sorry, we cannot afford Doctors.'
But DO NOT hire someone as on duty doctors who cannot interpret a basic ECG or CXR.
Do not replace modern science with someone who studies 'Vata/Vayu' instead of Physiology, and whose texts suggest 'gazing at beautiful women' cures TB.
That isn't healthcare. It is an insult to the dying patient.
Today in my OPD a 50 year old patient came.
Pt: “Sugar ki dawai likh do.”
Me: “Sugar kab se hai”
Pt: “15 saal se”
Me: “Kaunsi dawai le rahe ho”
Pt: “Koi dawai nahi le raha… kaafi time se”
Me: “Kitne time se”
Pt: “10 saal se”
Me: “Kyunn”
Pt: “Ayurvedic le raha tha”
Me: “Sugar last kab check kiya tha”
Pt: “Saalo ho gaye”
On asking further he had symptoms suggesting neuropathy gastroparesis and even some pedal edema possibly early nephropathy.
I advised basic tests like HbA1c FBS PPBS Urine ACR KFT and Lipids.
Pt: “Test west rehne do sir. Faltu kharcha karwate ho. Bas strong wali dawai likh do aur Mai khate rhunga.”
I explained that it does not work like that.
So many years of uncontrolled sugar damage nerves, kidneys, heart aur nuksaan already dikh raha hai.
He was not interested in listening.
I finally checked an RBS just to get some baseline.
It came 493.
I again tried to explain him Ki sugar level jyada hai ek bar thik se evaluate krwa lo but he said
“Aapko dawai likhni hai to likho nahi to fee wapas kar do. Main kahin aur dikhwa lunga.”
At that point I knew I could not prescribe blindly and he did not want proper evaluation & follow up.
To avoid unsafe care I asked my assistant to refund him.
And was I right or wrong?
Honestly I feel I did the only safe and ethical thing because treating a patient without proper assessment is far worse than stepping back when they refuse necessary care.
What's your take on thisthis
