@corsent So unjust. And morally despicable! Anonymity was forced on birthmothers, esp. those from the closed adoption era, and then their autonomy is co-opted and weaponized against us in our fight for equality. It's revolting. 🤮
@naturenurture5@corsent@naturenurture5 This is extraordinary. Where can we find the full article text captured in your image above? I would love to read it.
@corsent Lifton gave us what she could with what language she had (as one of the original whistleblowers on domestic infant adoption, she really had to work for the words!) When I read these now, I see how they are early descriptions to classify cPTSD today for separation trauma.
@adopteelaw I've got to power down for now but I do appreciate the website content you publish and want to thank you. My biggest wish for you is that you see the opportunity you missed today. It happened way earlier in the day. When you find it, let me know. But if you don't, that's ok too.
@adopteelaw 2/ #fact: The convo started when I politely disagreed w/ a broad claim you made. From there, I tried to decipher what the actual definition of "from the get-go" meant and then you spent the rest of the day waving smoke/mirrors/assumptions at & about me.
@adopteelaw Only someone with a dangerously high ego would feel that way. *sigh*
I really do want to like you and even trust you at some point. I’ll keep trying. 🤷🏻♀️
@adopteelaw You know what they say about assuming, right? I think you need to go easy on yourself right now. You're getting worked up and assuming so many things I've lost count. I've been trying to help you all day but you can't even see it. Hope you have a good evening.
@adopteelaw I agree with you! Opposing bad legislation isn't inflammatory. But demonizing those who do is. And misinforming your followers with statements like some advocates willfully go into efforts wanting to purposefully hurt other people with a compromise is also...not a fact.
@adopteelaw I don't think you're giving ur followers enough credit to make up their own mind a/b stuff. They're prob super smart & just want all the facts. Sometimes the inflammatory language you use to describe people/events make it really hard to draw out what those facts are, that's all.
@adopteelaw Um. Ok. Not sure we're aligned on what a fact is but ok. I just don't know anyone who is active in any reform movement that starts out going after a compromise from the get-go. It just doesn't make sense.
@ConnConnection And also, WTF does "from which they had previously been prohibited at the order of birth parents" mean? That's not even remotely correct. No birth certificate release was ever at the discretion of a first parent. I just can't even with these reporters any more....
IT'S OFFICIAL!!! Gov. Ned Lamont has signed PA 21-21 into law. Every single #adoptee born in CT and who is at least 18 yrs old will be able to request their original birth certificate from the town clerk where they were born starting July 1, 2021. #adopteerights#adopteevoices
**LAST ACTION ALERT** We're not finished just yet! Fire up those voices and let's get this bill across the finish line to make Connecticut the 10th state to treat ALL #adoptees equally. Here's how: https://t.co/lcxkDwmoyU… #adopteerights#adopteevoices#adoptee
