कोर्ट में जब यह मामला गया तो CCTV फुटेज मांगी गई, जिस पर जवाब दिया गया कि कैमरे बंद हैं। जबकि पेमेंट होने के बाद भी कई इलाकों में CCTV नहीं लगाया गया।

इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने तो UP पुलिस को ‘झूठों का झुंड’ तक कह दिया।

आम आदमी अपराध करे तो तुरंत मुकदमा दर्ज होता है, लेकिन अगर पुलिस ही अपराध करे तो कार्रवाई कौन करेगा?

कोर्ट ने इस मामले में SHO पर पेनल्टी लगाते हुए टिप्पणी की- क्या हर मामले में जांच क्राइम ब्रांच या CBI को देनी पड़ेगी?

Reporters' Collective went to Bhadrak, Odisha, and looked at the actual forms.

BJP booth agents filed hundreds of Form-7 applications to delete voters.
Only Muslim names. In at least 30 booths, where the Muslim population is over 90%.

The forms were filled on a computer.
The voter's name and address were already printed.
The agents only added their own name, phone number and signature.
One of the agents confirmed on WhatsApp that he is a BJP member.

Now see what the system did.

The BLOs said these voters were verified days ago and the forms were false.
The sub-collector's office still ordered them to re-verify every single one.
One head BLO's own two sons and daughter were on the list.
1,150 voters in just his 10 booths.

Filing false information in Form-7 is a crime, up to one year in jail.
FIRs were filed.
No inquiry started.
The Election Commission and the district office did not answer a single question.

And one morning the officer knocks on your door and says "someone told us you don't live here, prove it." You didn't do anything.

वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता कपिल सिब्बल @KapilSibal कहते हैं कि सीजेआई ने न केवल कमेटी के साथ बैठक कर ली बल्कि अन्य जजों के साथ ब्रीफ के भी आदेश दे दिए जिससे यह पता लग सके कि इस बिल को पारित होने में क्या क्या संवैधानिक अड़चनें आ सकती है।या घोर अनैतिक है। कोई कानून बना नहीं उसके गुण दोष को आप कोर्ट के साथ कैसे एनालाइज कर सकते हैं?

सुप्रीम कोर्ट को अंदाजा नहीं है कि देश कितना भरा हुआ है। कोई भी जनविरोधी करतूत अगर विधायिका करती है तो वह नाकाबिले बर्दाश्त होगा। देश को इस किस्म की राजनीति में उलझने से बचाना और न्यायपालिका की गरिमा को बनाए रखना सीजेआई की जिम्मेदारी है।
