A new study (ICMR-NICPR & TISS) finds ~10.6% of Indian households (~20.5 million) could move up an economic class by quitting tobacco.
Poor households spend up to 6.4% of income on it. Tobacco causes ~1.35M deaths/year; cessation could cut poverty and improve health.
3 years ago, the obesity drug market was basically Ozempic.
Today, it's 9 drugs deep in late-stage. Here's what each one actually adds:
1. Foundayo: latest oral GLP-1. @US_FDA approved April 1, 2026. Injections become optional.
2. Retatrutide: 24% weight loss at 48 weeks (Phase 2). Triple agonist.
3. CagriSema: less nausea than semaglutide. NDA filed December 2025.
4. Survodutide: GLP-1 + glucagon. Cuts liver fat alongside weight.
5. Amycretin: oral weekly. GLP-1 + amylin. Phase 2.
6. Petrelintide: amylin only. Phase 2 posted March 2026.
7. Mazdutide: China approved 2026. US Phase 3 ongoing.
8. Pemvidutide: obesity + MASH dual indication.
9. Monlunabant: CB1 inverse agonist. Phase 2.
The next pharma cycle may not be Novo vs Lilly. It's shaping up as mechanism vs mechanism.
GLP-1 receptor agonists are increasingly used to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity, and trials have shown reductions in cardiovascular risk and slowing of kidney failure. Adverse events are mostly gastrointestinal.

In 10,000 years, your country won’t exist. The borders will be dissolved, and your language will be extinct or unrecognizable.
Your digital footprint will be gone, and data will rot faster than stone. Most of what defined us today, money, politics, status and online lives, will vanish without context.
What survives will be fragments: misread, mythologized, guessed at, and wrong.
The uncomfortable truth is this: human certainty is an illusion built on missing data. We don’t know where we truly came from. We don’t know how many civilizations rose, advanced, and quietly reset before us.
As history shows us, it isn’t a straight line of progress, it’s a series of collapses, with survivors writing the story. And we don’t know if we’re evolving… or just approaching another reset.

Clinicians can enhance patient understanding by using numerical data instead of verbal probabilities, consistent denominators, absolute risk comparisons, and clear context for unfamiliar data types.

'We are losing the ability to think critically. We are losing the distinction between doing more and doing better. Precision without purpose is not progressing. Volume without value is not success"
