Tomorrow, I’m bringing the #CEBill back to Parliament.
To truly address the global climate-nature crisis, we must align UK law with what’s needed to reverse nature loss by 2030—and keep 1.5°C alive.
The CE Bill will do exactly that! 🌍🌱 @cebill_now
⚡️ Huge news! ⚡️
The #CEBill is returning to Westminster on 10 May, supported by MPs from all major parties, and led by @_OliviaBlake.
We now need everyone to get behind @cebill_now–lock the science into law–and secure a liveable future. https://t.co/2Y35yFk7jn
To me it's almost inconceivable at this point that we will end the fossil fuel industry in time to keep mean global heating under 1.5°C. Even the most basic action imaginable - a moratorium just on NEW fossil fuel projects - seems impossibly far away.
@luhc My letter to local paper about IZ’s saying: don’t touch them with a barge pole. And they won’t be for local people. They will be for a small cabal of councillors and private sector
Shropshire firefighters' pensions are still being invested in fossil fuel companies stoking the climate emergency. Please will @WestMidlandsFBU call on the £2 billion Shropshire County Pension Fund to divest? We can help!🌍🔥@fbunational@MattWrack

I've written to @trussliz demanding an emergency recall of Parliament following the disastrous Tory budget.
The UK economy is in crisis. All of us will pay the price as interest rates, mortgages and the cost of goods rise.
MPs should be in parliament holding the govt to account
Read this thread. I have never seen such strong words from @Natures_Voice, showing how serious this is. We must somehow persuade our government that this proposal is disastrous and wildly unpopular.
🇩🇰Denmark's proposal for loss and damage funding "is a step in the right direction," says E3G's @C_BritoCecilio in @guardian. "Now we just need more countries to follow with finance commitments, and be serious about supporting the people in need.” #COP27 https://t.co/EAmPqLOOOt
Legislation will be published today with powers to amend/scrap 100s of environment laws.
DEFRA has more EU retained laws than any other Dept, covering #wildlife, water, air & chemicals.
Scrapping them would be legislative vandalism. Rewriting them would pose unacceptable delay.
A very special visitor arrived on Monday - wonderful to meet Gladys Habu in person @ShropClimate making our link with Solomon Islands strong and flexible for the future- much laughter too @NovelFinds @agchap @EcoWarriorAndCo @Gladys_H_ 💚
One revolution of the turbine can power an average home in the U.K. for 24 hours
One thing (of many) I don't understand about the tory right - how can you not find renewables exciting and incredible?
