Here’s the thing about nazis and their ilk: you can’t talk them into becoming good people. You can choose to show compassion for the fears that drive them, but they will corrupt and burn everything unless you disarm and firewall. They’ll die miserable no matter what you do.
Articles like this show why decarbonization has to involve energy abundance. You cannot ask people to live in sweltering heat for the sake of the planet. They just won't do it. Let people cool their homes with clean energy that's too cheap to meter.

It’s so rewarding to see this in action. It turns out writing a backend/frontend for a E2EE mesh network to stream media is a whole thing. Cross-platform, C++, with global distribution. I hope to do another @tuple blog post soon!
Fusion energy is our long-term future.
In the immediate term, we should further adopt fission energy, which offers nearly the exact same set of advantages as fusion (minus meltdown risks and high-activity waste, both of which are very well solved with current technology).
