Today’s First Responder Appreciation event at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hesperia was a great reminder of the strong bond between our community and those who serve it.
Thank you to Assistant Sheriff Ernie Perez and all of the first responders who attended. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
We appreciate the church family for their hospitality and for recognizing those who answer the call every day.

Families are already feeling the pressure of rising costs—we cannot allow criminal activity to make it worse. Retail theft doesn’t just impact businesses, it drives up prices and security costs that ultimately fall on our communities.
In the latest Operation Smash and Grab, investigators recovered over $4,800 in stolen property and made eight felony arrests.
Let me be clear: we will not tolerate criminals impacting the quality of life in San Bernardino County. We will continue to hold offenders accountable and protect our residents, shoppers, and businesses.
76 arrests. 76 firearms seized, including 10 ghost guns, across six communities in our latest Operation Consequences.
The men and women of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, alongside our partner agencies, are doing outstanding work keeping our communities safe.
We remain committed to ensuring that those who choose to commit crime in this county will face the consequences of their actions.

Senator Reyes misleads the public once again on SB 873. It fails to account for probable cause arrests by federal officers, creating operational conflict for deputies tasked with court security. That’s the reality. Read my full letter and @JeffHorseman’s article below ⬇️

We will continue to take a proactive approach to removing dangerous weapons and illegal drugs from our streets.
Our commitment to keeping our communities safe remains unwavering, and operations like this are a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our deputies and partnering agencies.
Congratulations to the San Bernardino County Fire District on a successful inaugural State of the Fire District event. While I was called away on duty, Assistant Sheriff Travis Newport and our Public Affairs team attended on my behalf.
The presentation highlighted not only innovation and a forward-looking strategy, but also the critical partnerships between the Fire District and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Our agencies work side by side on emergency response, large-scale incidents, and daily operations to ensure coordinated, efficient service to the public.

120 miles of pavement. 20 stages. Over 10,000 runners, volunteers, family members, and support staff. Hot days and cold nights.
Blood. Sweat. Pride. Honor.
But what truly defines this race isn’t the finish line, it’s the people behind every step.
From Baker to Las Vegas, law enforcement officers from across Southern California, not just to compete, but to represent something greater than themselves.
They run for those we’ve lost.
They run for their partners, their families, and their communities.
They run to honor the badge and the sacrifices that come with it.
Agencies from across Southern California stand shoulder to shoulder, united in purpose, supporting one another, strengthening bonds, and carrying forward a shared commitment to service.
This race isn’t just about endurance. It’s about remembrance, camaraderie, and the unwavering spirit of those who serve.
Proud to be part of the @sbcountysheriff Yellow team for the 40th annual Baker to Vegas run!
This program continues to deliver real results, and this week was a powerful example of that impact.
In just one week:
• 108 arrests
• 63 felony arrests
• 45 misdemeanor arrests
• 25 firearms seized (including 3 ghost guns)
• 2 pounds of narcotics seized (heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl)
• 16 search warrants served
This multi-agency effort is focused on reducing violent crime, targeting criminal street gangs, and removing illegal firearms and dangerous drugs from our communities, and it’s working!
Week after week, these operations are making our neighborhoods safer.
Great work by all agencies involved.
