@psycho_Tochi@historyinmemes Not true. A flat map representing the surface of a sphere is necessarily inaccurate. This is true, not a lie. Also, if the map is centered on a great circle (e.g. the equator) distances along that line are accurate relative to the circumference of the sphere.
@YalkTalk@konstructivizm Define what you mean by guess. The fundamental laws of physics are well known and tested. Observational data is of known accuracy. That is we know what the error bars are around observational data. With that information models such as this can be constructed. Not a "guess".
@AquahoodC@konstructivizm "Creative prompt engineering"? You mean AI queries? Do you really think this rises to the level of an engineering discipline?
@engineers_feed The most important organizational policy is that each person, engineer or not, is personally responsible for the quality of the work they deliver. This should be applied independently of how the work product is produced. "My dog ate my homework" is not a valid excuse.
@TheBiff5@factpostnews If the courts aren't willing to enforce the laws and Congress is unwilling to hold him accountable the written word of the law is meaningless.
@mdelling@pickover Since there are infinite points on a circle, if one is removed there are still infinite points on the circle. And, since two adjacent points require infinite decimal places to precisely locate them, is it even possible to remove a point that cannot be precisely describe?
@AmericaJoJo@SenDuckworth In the US we rarely have price controls, certainly not on commodities. Nixon tried wage and price freezes in the 70s to combat inflation. It was an unmitigated disaster. Price controls lead to shortages because producers will slow production.
