this is ABSOLUTELY NOT acceptable on a mid-high end system in 2023 while it's running on the release preview version of the most popular operating system in the world made by the second most wealthiest company in the world. @Windows @Microsoft

Here is what a real, ancient, Thames floodplain haymeadow looks like; just before it is mown. Inundated in winter, dry now. Great biodiversity of long-lived perennial plants, on a never-ploughed carbon-rich soil. Hinksey Meadow: these could be my good-bye photos because here..

@_sysengineer I'm a tapper. Work with too many different models to get the timing down and not hit too early before it's scanning for key presses.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@depechejoe @BrandyLJensen That's not how air conditioners work though. They operate at a constant power. They're working no harder or easier no matter what you dial in. Lowering the thermostat just means it stays on for longer.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@Dunc2k @BrandyLJensen Except AC doesn't have an "up".

It always works at the same power.

Temperature is controlled by turning the cooling element on or off.

The frequency of on or off is determined by the thermostat which is set with a desired temperature. Down being cooler.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@HieuTiller @aisling_bn @ddeshopper @daveregrets We can let twitter be the judge of that I guess.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@HieuTiller @aisling_bn @ddeshopper @daveregrets Who's the cuck?

The guy so terrified of everything he needs a gun or the officer who can sort things out with a stick.

I know where my money is.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@AholiabBezaleel @w00ds98 @HieuTiller @ddeshopper @daveregrets And why do you think that is?

Do you not think Europe was awash with weapons after WW2?

You have to start somewhere.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@HieuTiller @PennyLDN @aisling_bn @ddeshopper @daveregrets https://t.co/LaGHJpdXE1

Have a read through that, there is 0.01% less knife crime per capita in the UK than the US.

You hear us being vocal about it here because we haven't fully normalised violence like you have a we think that's still too much.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@HieuTiller @aisling_bn @ddeshopper @daveregrets 99% of cops here carry a stick and maybe a taser. They seem to do just fine.

[The Dad Joke Man @DadJokeMan]

To the person who stole my trainers and hi-viz jacket...

You can run, but you can't hide.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@francescofacco @ariaupdated No thanks, unless they’re going to make intune free to education.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@CarlGottlieb You can be sure any Samsung kit I own is on its own vlan with only internet access. 😂haven’t got any other iot stuff as I don’t trust it.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@Durrtydoesit @Giorno52053982 @BoldButReal @_Tom_Henderson_ How would you know the servers are full with no browser for all out warfare?

Match making will make sure you have a full server even if the player base dropped to a few hundred.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@TheRealNumber6 @dcifoyle @jiim_pickett @editingemily Depends if you think there is more of a risk from a short memorable password that can be brute forced remotely or a long secure one you can paste that requires your pc to already be compromised to read.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@deadstephanietm @SaddestRobots @0xabad1dea Then use 7zip not rar.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@Jan73811358 @BattlefieldComm @Battlefield @EAHelp 50fps with vega 64, i9 9900k playing on 3440x1440 all setting on high. Lots of problems with the game as implemented but this isn't one.

Maybe issue with Nvidia drivers?

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@Mu7ammadDaji @shubham58294206 @SANUKAdeTEKA Of course they do. iPhone also has speed dial through the ‘favourites’ tab of the phone app. I’m just highlighting the nonsense in the post I was responding to talking about t9 dialling when most phone don’t have a number pad nowadays.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@poggs @jesslynnrose When people saying pinging over an email they are referring to sonar and not icmp. It’s a metaphor for getting a response.

[John Porter @jp200000000]

@shubham58294206 @SANUKAdeTEKA What does that even mean? T9 is a type of predictive text from the old Nokia days when phones only had number pads. On the iPhone I can just say hey Siri call xxx. Don’t even need to touch the phone.
