WEMBY JUST DROPPED A BAR:
"The lack of experience is a strength of us...because we could do impossible stuff because we don't know it's impossible" ๐ฅถ
(h/t @ohnohedidnt24)
Watch how the cycle works:
1. An allegation is made.
2. Journalists report the allegation.
3. NGOs cite the reporting.
4. The UN cites the NGOs.
5. A strongly worded report is issued.
6. Everyone cites the UN report.
By the end, an unverified claim has been transformed into an accepted "fact" through repetition rather than evidence.
I was a casual tbh. I liked both Drake and Kendrick.
I defended Kendrick when Mr Morale dropped and they called him Hotep, Anti-Vax and pandering on here.
During the beef Kendrick went FBA and indulged in diaspora wars, questioning Drakeโs blackness. That was a problem.
Then I just couldnโt jive with a pedo anthem. Iโm sorry, that shit weird. They made it mainstream.
My brain is too contrarian for the bullshit.
Will never get over shooting with the @DJIGlobal OSMO Pocket 3โฆ makes capturing solo travel content ridiculously easy. Now Iโm over here convincing myself I need the Pocket 4 for the zoom.
Editing done with @Apple Clips ๐ฌ
See the ๐งตall the solo content filmed this year so far
I think it's very wise that Drake rejects bundles and variants. The problem with constantly inflating your prestige is that it is unsustainable.
You will eventually retire, and the music will have to speak for itself. People will realise you were never that big.
Someone like Taylor Swift is talented, but the hype bubble she built via shameless bundles, variants and fan streaming farms will burst at one point or another. This means there will be a very harsh referendum on her legacy.
Drake, on the other hand, achieves lower first week sales, but has incredible long-term audience engagement. His old songs are going viral many years after their release because younger generations are resonating with his catalogue.
Some said Astroworld was the biggest rap album of 2018. It was grossly inflated by bundles and is no longer on the Billboard 200. Scorpion is at #45.
Kendrick was the first rapper to cross 100M monthly listeners on Spotify. He lost 40M of them in a few months. 100M+ streams removed. Drake is about to cross 100M listeners, moving at a slow, yet sustainable pace, and will likely go far beyond that number without regressing.
Jay-Z had the record for most #1 albums of any male soloist. None of those albums are on the Hot 200. Drake broke that record, and currently has 10 albums on the chart. About to be 13.
You see how this works?
People get caught up in the moment. They want to put up fake scores on the board so they can posture to the crowd. This is very shortsighted.
All lies, without a single exception, have expiration dates. Investing deceit into your legacy is a surefire way to rot it from within.
Time will tell who was who in this scene.
This is actual insanity. And no one will talk about it.
Another video I saw this morning of police blocking Israel and Jewish activists from entering a Tim Hortons because Pro Palestine protestors were inside the establishment already.
Itโs actually sickening whats happening.
