#JNeurosci: Using a multi-timescale paradigm, @judith_goris et al @ugent found individuals with autism are faster to update their sensory models of the world based on new info, as proposed by predictive coding accounts of autism. https://t.co/YbjCXHHAok
Happy to share that I started as an ENLIGHT coordinator @ugent one month ago! ⭐
ENLIGHT is a network of nine European universities with the ambition to innovate higher education and I'm happy to be part of it ✨
Already attended my first ENLIGHT conference💕

Our new paper is out!✨
We found reduced influence of first impressions in early sensory processing in autism, in line with faster model updating🧠

New paper out! We found worse performance in a volatile reward learning task in participants with higher autistic traits, but no relation with modelled learning rates. With @MassimoSilvetti and @sebraem! https://t.co/RNTaiXARgr
@KobeDesender @MassimoSilvetti@sebraem All the data is on OSF so we do want to encourage other researchers to try and model our data with other approaches! (3/3)
@KobeDesender @MassimoSilvetti@sebraem We did find that participants with higher autistic traits were specifically worse for reward contingencies opposite to those initially learned. So more advanced model-based approaches that for example retain memory for earlier learned contingencies might be more successful. (2/3)
@KobeDesender @MassimoSilvetti@sebraem A very good question and one we cannot answer at the moment🤷♀️ With our more model-free approaches (often used in these paradigms), we didn't find any relation between model parameters and autistic traits. (1/3)
