Can brain activity predict chocolate sales? Guest blogger @julia_gottwald wasn't entirely convinced by this study #WorldChocolateDay https://t.co/myLkTvHL17
A brilliant end to 2019! The Guardian's @PD_Smith is calling our book "a fascinating guide to neuroimaging and the wonders of one of the most complex structures in the universe: our brain".

@Ivuoma Thank you. And I agree on sample size - especially bearing in mind that the groups were then split into 2 (high and low alcohol sensitivity). Still interesting though!
Are you sensitive to alcohol? Then you might want to avoid short nights as well.
Read my @ResearchDigest#scicomm piece to find out why - and what adenosine has to do with it.

New findings explain why, if you’re sensitive to alcohol, you’re probably sensitive to sleep deprivation too: https://t.co/9HCzxIUzad New guest post by @julia_gottwald covering a @PNASNews paper by researchers @DLR_en
5 years ago I wrote a profile of celebrated neuroscientist Tania Singer. Her research on empathy was fascinating and she seemed quirky but charming, intelligent and eloquent. I did not talk to people in her lab about what it was like to work with her. It’s a mistake I regret. 1/n

When it comes to marketing, is there truly an untapped potential in the human brain that can be unlocked using neuroimaging?

Our #scicomm book Sex, Lies, & Brain Scans is available in Czech: https://t.co/9LsHCNqM1i
Our translator Vojtech Pisl tells me the title is "Can neuroscientists read our thoughts? From lie detectors to neuromarketing"
I like it!
