Wrote about 4 years of using @obsdmd to do self-discovery in markdown files.
More than 700 notes later, it's become less about the perfect note-taking system and more about writing regularly to document what life feels like, one draft at a time.
Totally shocking moment from @SarvamAI - amazing voice quality, fully synthetic, cinematic expressiveness all the way to natural speech, amazing range. Total gosebumps moment seeing this live. Must watch.
So many techbros I follow have outed themselves in the last few days.
Now I have a nice list of people to mute/block/unfollow.
Their uninformed and unempathetic takes, their refusal to acknowledge the influence they have, their inability to have an open mind and do the bare minimum research before posting anything is genuinely hideous.
You skipped the stage of forming and evolving your political opinions while you were focused on your career grind. I get it. It’s alright.
But, at the very least, be aware of that fact instead of assuming that you being knowledgeable in your profession also somehow means that the same expertise backs every opinion you hold.
If you continue lacking empathy, nobody’s going to stand by your side if (god forbid) you find yourself in a position where your problems need to be voiced out.
I’ve seen enough to realise that it’s an eventuality. None of us are immune to this.
