One bitter realization I have is that no new programming language will ever take off again. LLMs can’t write code in them, so developers won’t adopt them, so there’s never enough code to train on. The flywheel that once bootstrapped languages now works in reverse

@fchollet Why though? As humans, our bottleneck is processing power & bandwidth, our advantage is general reasoning / symbolic encoding. Once there’s an AGI like you’ve mentioned, it can learn at incredible rates. Maybe it’ll start as a baby but hit adolesence in a very short span of time.

You’ll select one from the bunch offering mostly identical services, differing marginally in capability, speed and price. Would love to coin the term AISP, only if it sounded a bit better.
