@iWomansplainer I think people are terrified of being told they are doing something wrong by paying attention to someone's child. The Gen Z way of handling the toxic PC culture is by being as neutral and bland as possible.
@itsolelehmann I have six kids. I only got positive comments from the silent generation, but I can't tell you how many snide or impolite remarks I have gotten from the Boomer generation. Gen X has checked out and they don't care. Millennials either admire it or loathe it.
@itsolelehmann Having kids was never cheap or affordable it just was unavoidable before π. Pregnancy is seen as a disease by so many people. We have to wait until those people exit the gene pool probably.
@NotBlindfolded I don't know when weddings changed from family celebrations to pretensious affairs, but I don't like it. Are we in the Victorian Era or something? Does everyone want a high society wedding these days? It's not like they do anything else in an upper class way- only this.
@Catholicizm1 It's women hiring women. Men need to take back the decision making in their companies!
But also, I think it might partly be healthcare jobs still bouncing back from covid.
@Sensus_Fidelium Why she did it matters way less to me. What if she goes on some other prescription drugs in the future and she's out in the public? Will we all be at risk? If I had done what she did, I would be taking responsibility, pleading guilty, and asking them to put me under the jail
@BreeSolstad To be honest we all know if any one of us overstayed our visa and didn't show up for a court appointment in the UK we would be deported back to America, so no sympathy here. He's an adult who should know better.
@arkansensis@cappuccinoo2000 Also, make sure you get hard copy offical baptism records and keep them somewhere easy to find in 7 years. You're going to need those for first communion! (I was a convert and didn't know that π) Last year I had to call up our old parish secretary. "Remember me?" π
@arkansensis@cappuccinoo2000 That's so sad! We were always able to schedule before birth (three different dioceses), but in our current church they only did two baptisms a week, so that pushed us out a month for both of our babies born here :(
I do like private baptisms better than group baptisms though.
@CraigOnan Every tradition seems crazy from the outside. It's called being human in a group of humans!
My research and using logic (to the best of my ability) brought me to Catholicism and I'm happy to pass on a culture to my kids instead of nothing-- even if people think it's crazy! π€ͺ
@ThymeToBeBorn Lots of books to read- especially books from 1850-1950.
Let him research topics and teach his siblings about them.
Rejoice that he won't struggle as much at advanced math! π That's a rare thing!
@TalesOfKalfinda@tracybeanz I'm sorry for you! That's horrible! A lot of people talk about how you should wait to have kids and that women can still get pregnant in their 40's (not that I would recommend it! π), but no one talks about how you could have early onset menopause! Fertility is not guaranteed π’
