BREAKING: another stabbing attack on a Palestinian-American has occurred. Last night in #AustinTX, a group of American Muslims were driving home after a pro-Palestine protest when this man approached their vehicle at a stop sign, started screaming the n-word and other obscenities, attempted to rip their Free Palestine flag off their car, yanked one of them out of the vehicle, started a fight, and ultimately stabbed a 23-year-old Palestinian-American in the chest.

Alhamdulillah, the young man is now recovering after surgery and the suspect has been arrested. We call on local and federal law enforcement to file hate crime charges against the suspect, who police have identified as #BertJamesBaker.

From the murder of six-year-old Wadea outside Chicago to the shooting of three college students in Burlington, Vermont, far too many violent attacks like this have occurred over the past four months.

Those responsible for this violence must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law...and those fomenting the anti-Palestinian and anti-Muslim hate that leads to this violence must be condemned. #Austin #Islamophobia #FreePalestine
