@tay_219_ Yes!! I think about this often, if someone sees a fire hydrant as their version of red but maybe this is a different color to someone else, I guess we’ll never know! #ewp22
A chair is only a chair because of our mutually agreed on definition of it. If someone decides they disagree with this definition and they make a new one is this wrong? Is it possible to be wrong about your own definition of something? #ewp22
@Hartlieb_Monica I agree with this but I think even if we did do this, we still couldn’t achieve perfect society. It’s in our nature to be competitive and greedy and I think this temptation would be too strong for many. #ewp22
@tay_219_ Yes!!! Especially during COVID we used the words “essential worker” and didn’t consider many of the jobs that provide bare necessities that are needed for survival. #ewp22
After todays class I don’t think it’s possible to have a simple society, we started with a simple society with little responsibility and then eventually realized that that’s not realistic and by the end of our conversation we needed a military and teachers #ewp22
@StuparichKayla I’ve never thought of just how much goes into putting together things such as sports and music, it’s such an in depth system and the simple task of introducing sports leads to a military and conflict #ewp22
@chopiJR I agree with this, competitive nature is human and I think no matter what everyone would want what others have and the greed would become overwhelming and lead to chaos. #ewp22
@ees41959297 I somewhat agree with this, sometimes it’s a sacrifice when we help someone but usually that sacrifice still makes the person feel good knowing that they’re helping. #ewp22
@PopkoDaniella I think that’s part of the problem for me.. part of life is the tangible things that you can truly experience and touch, in the box you get none of that and you’re completely cut off from the rest of the world forever. To me, that’s depressing. #ewp22
@Ha54367361Hart@nickflorin2 This is something I considered as well. Dr.Patrone said you would think you were with them but I don’t think it’s remotely close to the same thing. I agree with this, that’s one thing I would never be able to give up. #ewp22
@Sambaldwin84@Rjrjrjjs Do they? Or do they just not want to see this person hurt because that makes them sad and it’s all full circle to them not wanting to be sad. Just something to think about that makes my mind spin Lol. #ewp22
According to a Utilitarian POV, lying produces more pleasure than pain so why is lying considered to be wrong and a sin if the end goal of life is pleasure? #ewp22
@tay_219_ If you choose to tell others about your positive act in an effort to spread positivity and encourage others to act in ways that will benefit others in society then I believe that your sole purpose for sharing would not be personal gain, it would be to better society #ewp22
@hannahp36939968@HannahChasnoff I agree with this I think they also fear that if people start to understand the issues in society things will change so drastically that those with the highest power will no longer be able to hold this power without being challenged #ewp22
@Rjrjrjjs This relates to equality and different ideas that society is pushing for I think, to accept everyone no matter what they believe and to accept our different s rather than fighting them #ewp22
@jamesmiele2022 this is a good point, what are morals? do people get to decide their own morals? are morals controlled by society and by one’s environment? #ewp22
@vanessakrakerr I agree with this and find it veryy interesting, are morals really only the fear of getting caught? so many people would do anything they want if they know they won’t get caught. crazy. #ewp22
@Antonio48591524 I agree with this, was this too a case of moral dumbfounding? “it’s wrong just because it is” none of us could give real moral reasons to why he shouldn’t kill the dogs. #ewp22
