@AgarwalRuchir@maheshperi The part where I disagree is that there are no jobs in these sectors. It’s just inefficient matching - i.e. inability of IITs to find adequate core sector jobs in these sectors which are still high growing (eg materials science).
@AgarwalRuchir@maheshperi Agree with Ruchir. I’m a student of the aforementioned Polymer Science which no longer runs there.
This kind of pruning is essential to reduce the excess capacity created for certain streams which don’t see adequate core sector placements.

India’s big failure is air pollution. Left unchecked, this will be the stumbling block for the economy. This can be fixed, countries have done it, and India has enough scientific talent to do it.
It is unfortunate that little is being done.
