@adamnmichel I stopped reading at "AGI includes wages, *capital gains* ..." As it shows you're being completely disingenuous or you have no clue what you're talking about.
@ayaankaran_ Arguing that entitlement spending is the problem demonstrates an attention bias/salience effect. Spending on entitlements contributes less to the overall debt than tax revenue.
Cost = Revenue - ("Entitlements" + Discretionary + Debt Interest)
@KonstantinKisin Creating a straw man is not a direct rebuke to the point of the tweet. You're actually supporting the ideas that spending money on aid saves lives. He's pointing out that cutting aid kills people. Arguing how a country should allot it's budget is another argument in itself.
@ThePrimeagen@ZackKorman Part of me thinks that the Mythos announcement created somewhat of an echo chamber. These issues have existed but they were disclosed via more niche platforms. After the Mythos announcement, you have a bunch of AI bros cosplaying Infosec and screaming the sky is falling.
@ashdgandhi I severely doubt the hour estimate is correct. I spent 25 hr/week on teaching alone. Then probably 30+ on research. I was offered 25k/9months where I accepted. Then, for other programs: 29k/year, 20k/9 months, 30k/year (for the first 3 years), 48k/year (for the first 2 years).
@NielsHoven@Hurricanehugo13 This comment is misleading in the context of the discussion. The 80/20 rule applies to premium revenue (thanks the the ACA), not operating profits. Plus, the 80% of premium revenue UHG pays on "healthcare" involves then paying themselves via their child company Optum.
@AlecStapp Anyone that knows the actual underlying architecture of today's LLMs would not scoff at the hallucination argument. Hallucinating is integral to how go about generating textโit's just like breathing for humans.
@TwoRulesOfWar Very misleading. You're comparing just 4-stars to officers. During WWII, the US military had 2000 officers for 12.2 million troops. That is a ratio of roughly 1 general/flag officer every 6000 troops. The modern military has about 900 officers for 1.3 million active-duty troops.
@GWallace61079@Mythos_Noir@captive_dreamer Flights from China began 45 years ago. With the most liberal interpretation of "Birth Tourism" where anyone with a temp visa (students, workers, etc) has kid in the US, you might hit 1 mil over 60 years. Considering only tourist visas over the last 60, not even over 50k. Shitskin
