Since Tukaram Mundhe took over in May as food-safety chief for Maharashtra, India, the 51-year-old has raided food businesses in Mumbai in an unprecedented crackdown on poor hygiene and unsafe food that has captivated the nation https://t.co/IyrzoS5GX5
We send missions into space, build world-class airports and run sleek Vande Bharat trains. And then millions of Indians commute like this every day. It’s risky, dangerous and unacceptable. India cannot aspire to first-world infrastructure while accepting this as normal. 😱
Fair criticism. Mumbai is transforming- metros, coastal roads, airports, bridges- but our civic infrastructure has not kept pace. The next big Indian infrastructure mission should be cleanliness: sewage treatment, waste collection, clean beaches, drains and public spaces. And as suggested, a world-class waterfront.
@letsblinkit@blinkitcares worst service of delivery, if u don’t have items ordered , refund , why replace item without permission, that to herbal tea with talcum powder !! Who does that ? Good that Tukaram Mundhe sir closed your few operations and suspended your licence, u should be permanently shut down.
IAS officer Roshan Jacob is leading a major crackdown on food adulteration in Uttar Pradesh.🥛
Across the state, thousands of inspections, raids and food-safety tests uncovered adulterated dairy products and unsafe packaged drinking water.
Officials seized ₹11.66 crore worth of food products, destroyed unsafe food worth ₹63.17 lakh, and filed FIRs against offenders.
Now, UP plans to publicly display the names and photographs of food adulterators.
Because food safety isn’t just about rules—it’s about protecting every family. 🌱
Should every state take similar action?

The biggest eye opener for me from the #FDA crackdown on restaurants is how openly Analogue Paneer, Cheese etc was being used even by prominent restaurants
It's a complete fraud on consumers and these products not only cost 50% or lower than genuine products but are also unhealthy.
I have never seen any analogue product being sold openly. That means it's an industry setup for fraud on consumers only. Should be permanently banned.

It took the Leader of Opposition from 11 am till 7 pm in a police station just to get an FIR registered for the pellet gun victim. This is Amit Shah’s jungle raj. No more.
If you don’t raise your voice against the takeover of the Neville D’Souza football ground in Bandra; you are part of the problem
Remember all the elected representatives in that area and how they let you down. And this isn’t just a local Bandra issue; it’s a sickening city-wide/national malaise
If people like this were in power in NYC, there would be no Central Park

TUKARAM MUNDHE is not going to ROLLOVER.
Set to challenge Bombay HC order asking his department Maharashtra FDA to pay Rs 5 lakh to a Pune-based sweets shop after questioning the continued suspension of its food licence despite substantial compliance with safety norms.
The most iconic Freedom Run ad on Doordarshan, one that brought a nation together in a spirit of glorious patriotism. This was 1987 when Rajiv Gandhi was PM (it’s his birth anniversary today) and DD was creating some brilliant trend setting shows.
Sadly, today in an age of performative nationalism, we make Insta reels that often lack genuine emotion. And the same public service broadcaster who once united a nation now divides us with toxic religious propaganda. Tragic. 🙏
🚨 What is wrong with the system?
People fall sick after consuming sweets from a shop.
FDA suspends the shop’s licence.
And then… the court fines the FDA for taking action.
So who is supposed to protect consumers?
The regulator that acts—or the court that punishes the regulator for acting?
