The biggest concern from farmers in these region is a market and supply chain consolidation. I say, the market exists. Also, we import fruits from as far as Burundi& Rwanda, hakuna mtu atashindwa kukuja Homa Bay, Siaya ama Vihiga 🥑 also, farmer cooperatives are the way to go!
Next Steps? We need to increase our production. Demand for 🥑 will only continue to increase both locally & globally. Our good people in Nyanza & Western, please plant avos. The region has immense potential - fertile land, space & water availability...
If you visit some places like the Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and Mount Kenya,
the biggest threat to people's survival in those places, especially in the Mount Kenya region, is ALCOHOL.
ALCOHOLISM.
This deserves immediate attention and undivided effort.
Families are thinning out.
Men are dying.
Schools are closing.
Churches are full of lonely and hopeless women.
Churches cannot fight alcoholism because a family ravaged by alcoholism will be hopeless, and churches thrive on hopeless families.
Politicians cannot fight alcoholism because a drunk society doesn't care who sits in parliament.
When alcoholism ravages a region, it comes with poverty, crime, malnutrition, poor sanitation, homelessness and jiggers.
We must call it out.
Fight it.
Defeat it.
Alcohol is bad.
After all is said and done, one good thing about these Twars and roasts is that they have exposed the incompetence of African governments and the people. 💯
Sometimes medical data in this country just stuns you. So there's been a spike in Pulmonary Embolism (blood clots in the lung) and what's confounding is that it isn't bounded by age, lifestyle or geography. You have a wild range from 50 to 21 and seemingly nothing connecting them
