New from me and a huge cast of amazing bioimage analysts in @J_Cell_Sci - - "The crucial role of bioimage analysts in scientific research and publication" https://t.co/wFrTQ1fPOH . Hop into π§΅to learn more! (1/x)
This year was full of great science and encounters (and what an amazing collaboration with @sbi2_org it was)! I had an amazing time and am still trying to process and follow-up on everything we've seen and discussed nearly 3 weeks later.
π What an exciting annual #CytoData2024 event! We kicked things off with a productive hackathon hosted by the Carpenter-Singh team at the @BroadInstitute, where participants dove into microscopy data and explored how to best model this rich data type ππ¬
π Excited for the combined SBI2 and Cytodata Colloquium at the SBI2 Annual Meeting in Boston on Sept 18, 2024! Network with leaders in bioimaging, explore cutting-edge research, and delve into AI in data modeling. Register now!

Correlation is not causation. In our new perspective, we connect systems biology, causal reasoning, and machine learning to inform future approaches in systems biology and molecular medicine in the wake of current deep learning advances: https://t.co/8OSgbmR93M π§΅π
We welcome Julio Saez-Rodriguez @JulioSaezRod as our new Head of Research!
Associate Director for EMBL-EBI Services Jo McEntyre @jomcentyre has been promoted to Deputy Director of EMBL-EBI & Rolf Apweiler is stepping back to Associate Director as he looks towards retirement.
Thrilled to announce that this year CytoData is joining forces with @sbi2_org! You can take part in the traditional CytoData Hackathon on September 17, and join from September 18-20 for an event supercharged in spatial and morphological profiling. Save the date for #cytodata2024!
How to link single-cell diversity and the emergence and maintenance of robust multicellular processes in developed tissues? π€
What can we learn about multicellular coordination in tissues from single-cell omics data?
Read about our view: https://t.co/z5msHv5EgB
If you are interested in neighborhood analysis to identify the clinical relevance of higher order tissue organization in the tumor microenvironment from spatial multiplexed omics data @tanevski and @felixjhartmann are recruiting an interinstitutional @ResearchLifesci postdoc
Local heterogeneity of tissues can define their function and predict clinical outcomes. We introduce Kasumi π»https://t.co/2xbfYuo39I to identify spatially localized neighborhoods of intra and intercellular relationships from spatial omics persistent across samples & conditions
Thrilled that next month, @Prof_Lundberg will share her latest results with us on mapping proteins at the subcellular level and finding new patterns across thousands of cell images π¬
With abundant cross-condition scell data it is timely to transition from taxonomies to multicellular descriptions of tissue function
Our revised work for the unsupervised analysis of samples of scell atlases, inference of multicellular programs, and study integration is out now
We are hiring! If you are a Research Software Engineer with experience in Python + database & modernising
@omnipathdb using https://t.co/9eGe9RDkNj sounds interesting to you, please check this posting: https://t.co/EuRMMFUeaQ

And after 2 intense days of hackathon on multiplexed imaging of kidney cancer, that's it for #CytoData2023 !
Getting to know new techniques and new faces was great.
Thank you @Lastu21@PekkaRuusuvuori and everyone who contributed to making such a fun event π
Thx @ERC_Research for funding our #ERCSyG project w @ejvillablanca@ZellerGroup@giacomello_lab π. Looking fwd to synergizing our expertise in immunology, #spatial techs, microbiomeπ¦ & computational modelingπ» to study gut host-microbiome interactions in health & disease
Exciting morning session at #CytoData2023 starting with @leeat_keren 's amazing talk on combinatorial multiplexing (thanks for joining remotely despite the awful circumstances!)
We sticked to tissue images with @tanevski and explored cell phenotyping with @jccaicedo
Now, on to the next session on methods for profiling cells with @imweio π¬π₯οΈ
Ambitious experimental + computational approach to model a complete cell in silico.
