While the Seattle Police haven’t been defunded, Seattle Public Schools has.

The state’s per student formula leads directly to defunding for systems like ours that are experiencing temporary dips in enrollment.

But with this defunding, SPS has to take drastic actions including potentially closing schools, which will lead to more student loss and more cuts. A death spiral.

#waleg has to restore the funding for our schools (including local voter approved levies limited to $3k per student, which are also now being forced down).
