deployed an app on @exedev for the first time, from registration to fully deployed running application it took less than 5 minutes, and most of it was spent by coding agent to create the pipeline for deployment. pretty amazing!
it will be my primary platform to deploy personal apps.
Installing even a coding harness/agent is not straightforward for non-technical teams (enterprises). IT supervises the installation, so to reduce friction applications should definitely surface the agent via slack, email, iMessage. In product agent could be another way, but it's better to meet people where they are operating everyday.
At the same time I do agree, that the product should also surface CLI/MCP to interact via coding harnesses.
Using a generic agent harness (e.g. Codex, Claude, OpenCode) + CLI/MCP is better than "Ask me anything" built-in product chat boxes in every product I've ever tried. A big reason is I can use the latest frontier models, another is mixing more context. Why your box over mine?
@skeptrune I think we need to build tools for raising the confidence for every change shipped. Unfortunately at agent scale, human code review can't do that even if we think it does.
Most of the tools that are talking about SRE are only a subset of what an SRE does. I also don't think companies that are solving it are looking at eliminating alerts but piggybacking on alerts from pagerduty.
Folks do not realize, an alert showing up on slack is also a distraction for engineers.
@Aiswarya_Sankar You can position it as one-time saving for which you take a % of the savings. However, steady state has to be based on continuous value provided by entelligence.
It doesnβt matter whether the code is written by humans or agents. You only gain confidence in releasing application by creating a good autonomous verification systems.
Write more code to build these verification systems.
You should be reviewing a MUCH smaller % of your code today than you were 5 years ago.
If your code is so important it needs every line verified, you better be writing a LOT of slop that verifies it too.
