Introducing Artemis III.
Four astronauts. Three launches. Two dockings. One splashdown.
In 2027, the Artemis III mission will practice docking the Orion spacecraft with two lunar landers in low Earth orbit — the capability we need to return humanity to the Moon’s surface.
Coming soon: one of history’s most complex missions
Tune in on Tuesday, June 9, at 11am ET, to meet the astronauts flying aboard Artemis III, the mission that will test docking capabilities with commercial landers in low Earth orbit — an important step to crewed lunar landings.
One week to go! 🚀
@NASA will announce the Artemis III crew on June 9 at 11am ET (1500 UTC). Get ready to meet the four astronauts who will help advance the technologies needed to return humans to the Moon.

Tonight, a Blue Moon takes center stage to close out the month. 🌕
While it won't actually change color, a "Blue Moon" is the name given to the second full moon to happen within a month. It only happens once every two or three years!

Liftoff of Starship V3, from the dunes right outside the pad.
This is the most insane shockwave action I have ever seen on video. Absolutely mad.

So proud of our team! Read the bottom of this release closely: The Artemis II livestream on NASA channels had 290 MILLION collective views — and that doesn’t even include streaming partners like Netflix/Hulu/Prime/etc.
So yeah. I think this mission found that staying power. 🥹
Today, Prime Minister Carney welcomed Canadian Space Agency astronauts Jeremy Hansen and Jenni Gibbons, alongside the @NASAArtemis II crew.
Their mission pushed the bounds of human exploration, inspiring the next generation of explorers, builders, and innovators.
Artemis II is inspiring the next generation! 🚀✨
The crew stopped by the @MuseumofNature to meet Canadian youth—sharing stories, sparking curiosity, and proving that big dreams are possible to achieve when working as a team. 💫👩🚀

The Artemis II images browser is in a much better shape now, with separate collections for Earth, Moon, and Eclipse images. A complete scientific data archive prepared by the lunar science team and peer-reviewed is to be released through PDS.

#PPOD: Flower Moon, 2026 🌸
Photographer Josh Dury captured this gorgeous view of the Flower #Moon on May 1, 2026, hanging above a cherry tree in full bloom and giving weight to the origin of the moon's name.
"May Day; the second quarter day. With rich smells and colours all around, it is yet another signal that solstice is not far away. Within the period of this lunar cycle - flowers come, flowers go. From vibrant blossom displays, to moonlight stretching across a carpet of bluebells."

May 5, 1961: Freedom 7 soars into space with NASA astronaut Alan Shepard aboard—the United States’ first human spaceflight.
65 years later, this same pioneering spirit fuels the Artemis missions working to establish a long-term lunar presence.
Here is the ISS transiting the waxing crescent moon, captured in broad daylight with a 14” telescope from the desert in Arizona.
One of the best parts of the space program is it’s possible to be observed across the entire world.
I'm thrilled to share this unique collaboration with Artemis Il astronaut @astro_reid.
Artemis II was a unique opportunity to get high-quality imagery of the moon, and Reid was gracious enough to capture some special image sets for me during the lunar flyby.
Now targeting Wednesday, April 29 for Falcon Heavy’s launch of the @viasat-3 F3 mission from Florida. The 85-minute window opens at 10:13 a.m. ET → https://t.co/Z9nzcfYdVU
After a hiatus of more than a year and a half, SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket is set to finally fly again from historic Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida.

The mission, named ViaSat-3 F3, will see a third internet satellite deployed as part of the ViaSat-3 internet satellite constellation into geostationary orbit (GEO).
