If you want an unfair advantage:

Never let people see the full size of what you have.

Avoid talking about your resources, and don't announce every enormous project you're working on to people who aren't even involved.

Doing so will only result in those particular people calculating what they can extract from your ambitions, and your leverage will immediately work against you.

You become a target for every ask, every comparison, and every last bit of resentment they harbor. That's negative attention.

And now you need to manage their expectations, or they may very well turn on you.

Practice some restraint, because whatever you say will be out there. Forever.

No amount of leverage you gain from revealing your ambition can restore the prolonged peace you sacrificed for it.
