@thismomloves Absolutely. It's going to cause confusion for parents who are hearing from schools that their child is reading multiple grade levels behind and yet EQAO scores report that their reading is just fine.
#TakeMeOutsideDay is Oct 18, and TLDSB is encouraging classes to share outdoor learning through a photo contest!
Throughout Oct, share your photos/vids and tag @TLDSB_Pathways using #TheLandWeLearnFromTLDSB to be entered to win one of two backpacks filled with Indigenous books.
“Looking Closely Through the Forest” by Frank Serafini is a great book that gets us doing exactly what the title says. We made these cardboard frames to help us highlight our forest finds. This little was delighted to find turkey tracks! #fdk#tldsblearns#kindergarten
“The Night Tree” by Eve Bunting is a new-to-me fav. After reading we were inspired to decorate our own night tree with popcorn chains, dried oranges, and cranberries as a gift to the animals. We’re very excited to observe our night tree over the next few days. #fdk#tldsblearns
Happy New Year! This past year was one to remember and be grateful for. Looking forward to this coming year where we will continue to explore, create, and build connections with the land and one another.

Instructional Routines are essential for effective & efficient teaching. These 5 vocabulary routines are tools every teacher should use. I put them on card stock & on a ring as essential resources for supporting vocabulary instruction. Get them all here :https://t.co/WB4gAozpKc
Some festive keepsakes the littles made for their families. 🎄🐻
The littles have been inquiring about bears, their tracks and scat. They drew their paw prints on the feet and we are adding a Hershey kiss for the scat. Lol. #tldsblearns#fdk
@lcfettes@thismomloves I hear you. Since we're outdoors so much my teaching partner and I both have waterproof portable mics. Voice saver. Hope you're doing well.
We were pretty thrilled to display the children’s self-portraits in this wall hanging that honours each child in our outdoor classroom. #tldsblearns#fdk
Monsters Art 😈
These monsters were fun to make and brought out some rich math language and conversations. (E.g., “I need 6 circles for my eyes, but I only have 4. I need 2 more to make 6.”) #fdk#tldsblearns
