@ADL VP, State & Local Advocacy-views are my own, mom, bourbon lover, runner, dog lover, lawyer. Life is too short, live each day like it's your last!✡️
A thread🧵: Let's talk about #antisemitism. It manifests on the right. It manifests on the left. It can even manifest in the center. It's in politics. It's on college campuses. It's seen at the core for many, if not most, forms of extremism. It's been mainstreamed. It's in media.
Today marks one year since the horrific shooting at @CapJewishMuseum in Washington, D.C., which took the lives of Sarah Milgrim z”l and Yaron Lischinsky z”l. They were murdered while attending a Jewish community event. This tragedy was a sobering reminder of the persistent threat of violent antisemitism in the United States.
This past March, we were honored to hear from Sarah’s parents, who spoke about their beautiful daughter, their grief and how the Jewish community has become their family during this unimaginably difficult time.
May the memories of Sarah and Yaron forever be a blessing, and may we all remain committed to the work against antisemitism and hate.
A mayor represents every New Yorker. Using City Hall resources to post a one-sided video about Israel’s founding — omitting the UN partition plan, the Arab rejection, the reasons that many Palestinians left, the many who stayed and the 850,000 Jewish refugeesforced to leave Arab lands — isn’t commemoration. It’s propaganda. Releasing it right before Shabbat isn’t leadership. It’s provocation. Especially when Nakba Day “commemorations” in this city featured open support for US-designated terror organizations, veneration of their leaders, and calls for Israel’s destruction. New Yorkers deserve a mayor with the moral clarity to call that out.
While our 2025 Audit reveals a decrease in overall incidents, it also shows that no U.S. state was spared from antisemitism.
Antisemitic incidents occurred in all 50 states and the D.C., with the highest levels of incidents occurring in NY (1,160), CA (817) and NJ (687).

This morning @ADL released our annual audit of antisemitic incidents for 2025. Sadly antisemitism is still having major impacts in all our communities. Please take a read. ⬇️
🚨BREAKING: ADL recorded a total of 6,274 incidents of antisemitic assault, harassment and vandalism across the U.S. in 2025, an average of 17 incidents per day. Incidents occurred in all 50 states and Washington D.C.
The total number of incidents decreased by 33% from 2024 – that's measurable progress. However, the total remains 70% higher than in 2022, prior to the Oct. 7th Hamas massacre, and 130% higher than 5 years ago.
2025 was the third highest year on record for antisemitic incidents since ADL began tracking them in 1979. It was also one of the most violent years in recent memory. Physical assaults increased by 4%, assaults involving a deadly weapon increased by 39% and three people were murdered in antisemitic attacks in the U.S.
Behind every incident is a real person or community. A young couple shot outside a museum. An elderly woman killed at a peaceful walk. A rabbi stabbed on the street. A child that has to see a swastika on their preschool building. Worshippers being harassed outside their synagogue.
This is unacceptable. That’s why ADL is monitoring threats, litigating in courtrooms, educating in classrooms, advocating in the halls of Congress and standing with every Jewish community under attack.

Last week, ADL joined survivors of antisemitic terror from Boulder, DC, Michigan and Mississippi as they came to Capitol Hill to urge Congress to fund $1 billion for NSGP and pass the Pray Safe Act and SACRED Act. As Temple Israel's Cassi Cohen said, NSGP grants are "the reason I was able to walk out alive."
Every community deserves the protection these crucial bills and funding aim to provide. https://t.co/rrp2u4pLp1
Faith communities have faced a rise in harassment and intimidation outside houses of worship. I'm pleased to see the Maryland General Assembly advancing legislation to ensure safe ingress and egress so individuals can worship without fear of intimidation or obstruction.
In her testimony, @ADL's @mermirmanweisel noted the drastic rise in antisemitic incidents, especially at Jewish institutions in recent years. Everyone should be allowed to worship freely and peacefully while respecting constitutionally protected speech or activities. I commend the bipartisan support for this important public safety, security and religious freedom priority.

Thank you, @GovNedLamont for meeting with @ADL. We’re grateful for your recent support of legislation establishing a Working Group to Address Antisemitism in K-12 Schools, and we look forward to continuing our work together to combat the increase in antisemitism & hate in CT.
Susan Abulhawa calling American Jews "monsters" who lack conscience and see others as "subhuman"? The irony of using dehumanizing language while accusing others of dehumanization is apparently lost on her, and Briahna Joy Gray, who platformed this vile rhetoric. At a time when we're seeing an increase in violence targeting the Jewish community across the US, Abulhawa said American Jews "deserve harsher words." This is not "moral clarity," it's dangerous, unabashed antisemitism. https://t.co/GU21TYXzrO
ADL is aware of an active security situation at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, MI. We are actively monitoring the situation and learning more. Please follow local law enforcement guidance and avoid the area.
We were pleased to lead this effort, and we are grateful to @GovBraun for signing this bill into law. Thank you to all who partnered with us to get this win: @Indy_JCRC, @DantAdvocacy, Indiana lawmakers, volunteers, and people like you who continue to support our work.
Any suggestion that @AIPAC— an American organization— is anything but pro-American is flat-out wrong and offensive. It's fine to disagree on policy, but it is a dual-loyalty trope dog whistle to denigrate the integrity of Americans working toward a strong US-Israel relationship.
As coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes target the Iranian regime, ADL stands with the United States, Israel and the Iranian people, who deserve dignity and freedom from a regime that murders its own citizens.
Since 1979, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been the world's leading state sponsor of antisemitism and terrorism. The regime and its proxies have murdered Jews, Americans and Israelis across the globe with impunity for decades. They have oppressed and brutalized their own people through mass incarceration, torture, and execution.
We pray for the safety of American service members in harm's way, Israeli civilians and soldiers, our partners and friends in the Gulf and all others in the region who have already been targeted.
As this situation develops, ADL will continue monitoring any threats by the Iranian regime and its proxies against Jewish communities in the U.S. and around the world.
So important that we continue important conversations with our governors throughout the country. Grateful to join the @ADLSoutheast team yesterday as we met with @GovKemp.
Grateful to meet with @GovKemp & @GAFirstLady Kemp at the Capitol to thank the governor for his strong stance against antisemitism, supporting the Jewish community through nonprofit security grants & protecting Jewish students in K-12 & college.
Today marks 24 years since Jewish American @WSJ journalist Daniel Pearl z”l was brutally murdered on camera after being kidnaped and tortured by Al Qaeda terrorists in Pakistan. His murderers filmed his execution and broadcast it to the world.
In his final words, Pearl proudly and defiantly declared his Jewish identity: "My father is Jewish. My mother is Jewish. I am Jewish."
The ADL Daniel Pearl Award was established two years later to honor his memory and commitment through his work to build cultural bridges and promote understanding.
May Daniel’s memory forever be a blessing.
My heart is heavy thinking about the chaos in Minneapolis and all my friends and partners across Minnesota. The state has endured an unbearable year of violence and loss – from the assassination of State Representative Melissa Hortman and the shooting of Senator John Hoffman in June, to the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in August, and the recent shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Enough is enough. This pattern of violence – political assassinations, hate-fueled attacks on houses of worship, fatal encounters with law enforcement – needs to stop. At this point, we don’t need false allegations about domestic terrorism or misplaced Holocaust analogies. All of this reflects a breakdown in how we treat one another and lays bare the deep fractures in our country. We can and must do better.
At @ADL we want to see an immediate de-escalation on all sides and a process that provides transparency and accountability. We implore all parties to pursue a path forward that embraces justice over retribution, elevates compassion over fear, and reaffirms our commitment to the belief that every life is sacred.
A historic synagogue in Philly was targeted by arson in October 2024. Khal Chasidim in Arizona was set on fire in March 2025. Now, a devastating arson in Mississippi is the latest in a trend of arsons targeting synagogues and Jewish individuals, including the home of Gov. Shapiro's last Passover.
How many more synagogues and Jewish families need to be attacked before these threats are taken more seriously?
