@JK22168 I agree as well! The experience of a live show is unmatched, even in some cases some artists perform songs in new exciting arrangements live that are much better then the originals

For the most part I completely disagree with Wald. Maybe for some genres of music that rely more on technology live performances can’t compare to recordings. But for me nothing will ever beat the overall experience of live music whether it’s the artist or cover band!! #S22POPMUS

@DevonTobin01 Yes I agree, I think in todays world covers can be a great thing when credit is given but I also see why schlock rock is deemed by people as theft when it occurred, and i agree as well that it is a important part of history

#S22POPMUS I don’t think that “schlock rock “ should be discredited completely I think that covers are an important part of music in that they can provide new takes on songs and engage new audiences although the original artists must always be given fair credit in all covers!

Personally I think Ray Charles chooses to use a break in his voice to further portray his emotion towards the lyrics and meaning of the song. The timbre of his voice is what I find the most appealing part of the song making me want to keep listening, very impressive!

@ian_pat_carroll That’s a good point! I mentioned how Spotify has made me more keen to share music with friends but I never thought about how it connects with social media in that sense but in my opinion to truly enjoy music you should feel no shame in listening to what you like!

For me the emergence of streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music in recent years has changed the way I treat listening to music. It allows me to branch off into different genres regularly and also makes it very easy to share music with friends!

I disagree that pop music is dumbed down I think that in todays world there are an endless amount of genres and whether the songs in them are deemed popular or not I think they all give listeners a new perspective into music and offer something valuable to pop culture #S22POPMUS
