The area needs transport investment, but shouldn't we be asking whether the railway line in question actually serves the area at all?

There is a common view that the only way London can meet its housing target is through massive subsidies.

This is nuts.

In parts of London, the value of new homes can be 4-5 times the cost of construction.

The problem is simple: planning.

Some conclusions:
1) Removing the tolls has switched traffic from M50 to the M4

2) The Bristol area is now more accessible for those in SE Monmouthshire, especially by car

3) HGVs seem to be getting the short straw for other traffic growth on the M48
