@HarryStebbings I agree, Harry, that TT tables & happy hours are fluff. But I think we might be mixing correlation with causation here.
Momentum & success are amazing, but they often stem from great culture rather than creating it. In fact, real culture & character is built during adversity.
I have a lot of respect for @pmarca
and @a16z but honestly this is very bad advice from a world leader. We don't need to throw the baby with the bath water as authenticity isn't a Binary thing. It's a spectrum. I wrote a piece on LinkedIn with my views:

The one thing you should never, ever, ever do is bring your full self. Leave your full self at home where it belongs and act like a professional and a grownup at work and in public. ๐ฏ
@RevolutApp have you decided to not go ahead with Business accounts in Australia? I love your consumer banking app and use it everyday. I would've like to use Revolut for my biz here in Oz but no response from you for weeks doesn't feel like good news. Let us know either way. Tx
@anuatluru At the start, it never feels THAT hard else it will be a non starter. It feels achievable at first & then it reveals its ugly face as you understand its true nature. By then, the concept of sunk cost feels flawed & you find yourself in the middle of the hardest thing. Age no bar!
@anuatluru I like self-funded more than customer/revenue funded. Organic like a farming tech. It would be hard to differentiate no-funding with couldn't-get-funding, which might scare potential new employees. All startups should have employee ownership so that is not ideal.
