@4FAngusBoy What do you think about winter grazing recently weaned replacement heifers with the cow herd (after they were weaned on covers and separated for a month or so)?
Such a well deserved recognition for recently retired Exec Director of @mnwheat, Dave Torgerson for the 2019 Distinguished Service Award from @mn_agrigrowth. Thank you @Torgy17 for your 30+ years of service to Minnesota farmers. #MNAgFoodSummit.
@WlntCrkJ@FLOLOfarms@ethanolcowboy@cattleandcorn Buckwheat is great in mixes. But I believe it's not great by itself for AMF. Mobilizes P as well. And doesn't take much in a mix to get nice plants.
Harvested the 60” corn. Did 188bu/ac, same as the comparison 30” test strip. Saw over 300bu multiple times. Lots of potential for profit and #SoilHealth gains! #Harvest19 🌱🌾🌽
@lstruckm We've had luck with lentils, peas, cowpeas (nodulated too), hairy vetch, faba beans, forage soybeans, and red clover here for legumes. Usually use multiple species, so something should work. No year is the same, so push for diversity.
@lstruckm We grew sunn hemp in corn interseeding and a couple complex covers this year and had growth but zero nodulation. My understanding is the Rhizobium is not native/around up here. And there's not really an innoculent. Neat plant, but probably won't do it again without innoculent.
#AgTwitter have you ever thought about those who bring is our farm news? Here’s a shout and thank you for the farm broadcasters for the job they do, and little bit of their story.... @CarahHart @rrfn https://t.co/lGNHd8Pn4D
