A4: Accountability I find to be the most challenging for coaches. Most don't have a way yet of showing their effectiveness. I think one way to do it is to document whereabouts and work. What did you do and what were the action steps following? #BAMSChat
Learning a lot and engaging in important conversations about equity in high school mathematics with MHS math teachers Ms. Ritten and Mr. Moray @NCTM Regional Boston
This video from @gfletchy explains multiplication from 2nd to 5th grades and applies to middle and high school teachers too (think: distributive property, polynomial multiplication, etc.). https://t.co/NUtLiZPaTV #iteachmath#MTBoS
Good article from a good, practical book. Thanks @gmferrojr for sharing! Numbers 1, 3, & 4 are good discussions to have, but I don't neccesarily agree with the video game analogy. Its more than just chances. The Panther @whrsd_math Depart. currently practices number 2 & some of 4
"Those remedial courses often were a trap. There's no question that math stops tens of thousands of students who would otherwise do fine in college from getting to the goal line."

I wonder why we rarely hear about schools pushing students to accelerate through ELA. Schools proudly talk about a pathway to allow kids to take 3 years of math in 2 years... but rarely the same with ELA. How'd we got to a place where one option seems silly and the other great?
The more students view mathematics as integral to what it means to be human the more empowered and engaged they will be in the classroom. @mathyawp #CBMSMathAlign
This document from the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators puts forth a nationwide vision for training and preparing all Pre-K to 12th grade teachers of mathematics. #CBMSMathAlign https://t.co/vyPCY9tDuE

I'm happy to share the cover of my upcoming book on @openmiddle problems! The forward's written by brilliant Open Middle co-founder @Math_m_Addicts. @TracyZager has been my patient and insightful editor with @stenhousepub. Should be out sometime in the fall. #MTBoS#ITeachMath
Check out the article I wrote for this week's edition of the Whitman-Hanson Express https://t.co/NuRiwW3FpP on p. 8. These two graphics had to be cut for space...
So proud to learn that my alma mater @UNC has replicated the model of @UMBC scholarship programs for increasing the pursuit of STEM degrees among underrepresented groups and is finding success after four years.
Recipe for STEM success for underrepresented students? “intensive advising, immersive transition activities the summer before students' first semester of college, institutional leadership that makes the program a priority, training for faculty and staff” https://t.co/2D158jvjjG
