Heading home from Bremerhaven after the third #SMRT workshop. A great week of meeting new people and motivating science. Big thanks to @gsnowph @mjsandells and Henning Lรถwe for taking us through your model! Can't wait to start using it!
One of our PhD candidates, Janna, is currently enjoying practical sessions, lectures and discussions in the Snow Microwave Radiative Transfer (SMRT) model training workshop @AWI_Media in Bremerhaven. Exciting: SMRT covers sea ice! ๐
Our Ct scanner is almost ready to depart for #CHARS ๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป for the safe transportation and successful installation in the high arctic to discover the wonder of arctic snow microstructure
In Bremerhaven training the next generation of SMRT users, with special focus on sea ice (as well as snow, of course!). Fantastic facilities and fantastic colleagues. Huge thanks for having us @AWI_de and for the support @ESA_EO#SMRTworkshop2023
@sjh5000 Really enjoyed the 6 days in the office before working from home againโฆ.
But yes, love the teaching, camaraderie, exposure to interesting research outside my field. Itโs a rich and special life.
@sjh5000 I went back into academia in Mar 2020. Wasnโt going for any academic job: specifically Northumbria Uni because of amazing people there. Had been working from home, self-employed for 5 years but going in to uni about once a fortnight to collaborate and got a buzz from those days.
